Well, the first two films lead the way, but if there was a straight forward transplant from the 1970s CA's it would seem very old fashioned.
I agree (but haven't seen it yet) that the new version might not work with a "Feminist agenda" bolted on,

I don't think a straight forward transfer would work either.

I think there's a very fine line in honouring the original success (Star Trek/Lost in Space & Charlies Angels) and producing films
that barely reflect the original (Dukes of Hazzard) or only take the premise of the original (the Italian Job) and then produce a very
different film and not a re-make.

You might have wondered why I didn't go to see the Premiere last night?

Well I may "really like" Kristen, but I'm a really unfan type of person, plus the Premiere
wasn't in Leicester Square, which is where all the main London Premieres are.

In that location there's lots of room, the area is been designed for it, instead, they stage the CA Premiere in a smaller (but not small) Cinema.

In that location (Curzon Street in Mayfair in London) they close off the street in front of the Cinema and then they close off the area even more by closing it off with artwork logo screens, (so that all photography has the logo in the background) then put photographers in a mussh pit which is normal, but you organise it.

But all this had nothing to do with the Actors and apparently they were lovely with fans, that's the fans that actually got to see them, the actors once they're on the red carpet and the photocall is done are herded from one live or recorded TV or Net interviews.

They had some busy days, first of the Press Junkets and then they recorded a Chat show (Jonathan Ross) that will go out on ITV on Saturday night.

The B&W Photographer's site gives an interesting insight into the "Glamour" of Premieres
and the reason why I didn't even bother, because if it's like for a photographer who
has accreditation, what's it going to be like for a "Fan"?

Apparently they were trying to promote a movie… but it wasn’t even listed, and wasn’t even published, and it wasn’t even confirmed.

One can ask oneself what relevance that might be considering the feature has been in development limbo for the last few years. And whatever felt relevant at the time may not be so today. From what i have seen it feels like a feature that wants to kick down doors that are already open and is just a tad late for the party. So it feels outdated.

 

Ok, guys, I may be missing for the next week my Wifie and i are off to Rhodes (today Sunny 19/20C).
But will check-in, we're bringing "The Crown" S3 in case it rains for a week.

I can't comment as I haven't seen it CA, but that's not uncommon there's a story today that dates back to 1994
