According to the trivia section on imdb, Ella Bright reportedly made it clear she was not going to do any nude scenes and it was she who insisted she will be wearing a bra or would be covered by a sheet during sex scenes. Dont think now that she already has her fame from this series, she will be willing to break that rule in the second season

 

Saying that “supposedly” ‘someone’ “hinted” something, when you can’t remember who it was, what specifically was said, and where you saw/read/heard/dreamt it - and it was only a hint at that - technically, sure it qualifies as a “rumor” but with all due respect in the context of this thread and with no further information at all it’s sort of a pointless post.

 

As a long-time user of IMDB, take that with a grain of salt as I have seen plenty of trolling and straight-up BS among trivia, parents guide, etc.

 

I won't remember where I read it now, but in an interview or something, Ella said the exact opposite, that the producers were the ones who supposedly made the choice to not show her nude to preserve a wholesome side to the character, I don't recall the exact words the article said. If true, it's even more bullshit, considering that in the books her character is supposed to be nude all the time.

 

There's also some madeup controversy about the age gap between her and the actor she gets with on the show(because any age difference whatsoever is offensive to some SMH), which may have been another reason for it.

 

Yeah I always thought it was the producers' choice because when the first rumblings about her not being nude arose, I did read articles where multiple people said that her character was not supposed to do nudity...then recently I saw this imdb page and thought may be it was her choice..though the series did show the girl I wanted to see nude so I am lukewarm whether or not Ella goes nude

In Kennedy’s book, The Deal, which inspired Season 1, and in the first season of the show itself, Hannah’s backstory involves sexual assault. Garrett Graham plays a big part in helping her overcome the tangle of emotions that linger around sex as a result of the rape.

“Her idea was that for Hannah, the briefing was like partial nudity and for Allie [Mike Abdalla] it had to be full, just because Allie, she’s got this amazing confidence about her, and she is so free with her body,” Bright said. “And sex is just such an important part of her life. It is honestly just showing the difference between these characters.”

What is even the point?

 

I'm not well versed enough in current goings on in popculture to even realize she's being hated on, but it sounds fucked up. I don’t know what about her causes misogynists to flare up but fuck hating on women. All I see is a beautiful young woman who is in an actress.

The multi-billion-dollar film industry daring to make films which don't show male or female nudity?
This very forum is being updated virtually every minute with porn...i.e. "naked ladies" and nude erect men - look there instead!

That's the thing... I don't think she is hated by anyone. Or at least she wasn't initially. That whole mess seem more like something intentionally created by Hollywood PR machine as a way to deflect and preemptively defeat any and all criticism. So that they can once again blame audience for their movie failure at box office and becoming a huge box office bomb. After all it's a lot easier to lay the blame on outside elements then accept that they are the reason why so many of their movies fail. Which is a tactic they employ time and again.

She didn't help herself with some of her comments, but most of the people who talk about Supergirls upcoming failure don't blame her for it. The blame is laid almost entirely on James Gunn and his general lack of direction or idea how to run something like DCU. Some might think she was miscast (but hey, people think that about almost everyone) but most believe she will do best she can considering weak script based on weak source material.

That said, she looks amazing in what little we got to see (even if most of it was not in Supergirl costume) and I do believe she could do even better job with the character in the future. Sadly, I fear she will not get the chance because I don't think James Gunn have much of a future as head of DCU once Warner - Paramount merger is completed. I'd be honestly surprised if he is even allowed to complete Man of Tomorrow (Superman sequel).

 

Im seeing Supergirl on Saturday, hope it's good.

 

Depends on the movie. This one doesn't sound interesting beyond Chloe's body.
