    Using your logic it could also be called a t-shirt since they are all knit fabrics. Jeans are pants and pants can be jeans. But sweaters and sweatshirts are never interchangeable.
    Sweaters use a heavy yarn and you can see the holes in the fabric since the knit is usually loose.
    Knit fabric for sweats (or even t-shirts) use a fine thread and you have to look real close to see the knit.
    Now, can we return to gawking at the women?
