    what en.wiktionary reads:

    beach = 1. The shore of a body of water, especially when sandy or pebbly.

    pebbly > pebble = 1. A small stone, especially one rounded by the action of water.

    Beach = Definition or not...A True BEACH is all sand.
    fine grain, warm, soft Sand.
    Your "pebbles" "Rocks" et. al. just need a few EONS to turn to sand.
    Methinks the East Atlantic...and especially Mediterranean has nowhere
    near the Wave action to do the job.
    American Beaches are Sand. Big Waves...
    If you only have rocks...pebbles...bummer.
    Why defend something that's obviously Way Worse.
