Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     I've been trying to find some new, or working new parts for the tractor, but they have stopped making that particular part, and the the owner suddenly didn't wanna pay to have a new axle made... so I'm just gonna weld it back together. if it works forever - fine, if it only works 5 meters - I don't give a fuck!

    That depends on how the two axleparts line up, if they aren't absolutely straight the weld will break, it's just a matter of when. but as I said, it's his decision. If it was easily accessed it wouldn't matter much but f I had that tractor I'd make a new axle so that I wouldn't have to risk tearing the whole thing in pieces again just after a short while!

    funny enough no. starting from where we are now it would take around 15 minutes to take the axle out or the tractor, and it's only 1 meter long so a machineshop nearby could probably make a fresh one in a day, and then it would take around 6 hours to put it all back together. But now I'm gonna weld the broken axle to the fresh one on place inside the frame, and then spend those 6 hours putting everything back together. and if it breaks again and he decides to make new parts. well it would take so much time and cost so much to fix it again that it would be better to sell it as scrap.
