    going to be a really busy day there Insom. have to do a California Bearing Ratio test on my Runway today. tests the hardness of the Runway, going to be crazy with all the traffic we have today.

    there is a hydraulic press we use Insom. we get our Loader with a load of gravel in the bucket then go out to our gravel runway. we then use the penetrometer and pump the hydraulics so the cone penetrates into the runway down to 4 inches.

    we have to do the test every 500 feet of the runway then take the average. that gives us our California Bearing Ratio.
