    I am using a .17 calibre hmr there Thore. great for geese sandhill cranes. was able to get my first one here today, we are able to hunt them up here.

    Here we can't shoot them if they have lit. As far as rifle I'm not sure. I've always used my 12 gauge.

    yes if they are on the ground I'll use a .17 calibre with a scope set at 100 yards. today one goose was about 130 yards away, I aimed half an inch above it and shot it in the throat!

    if they are flying I'll use a 12 gauge shotgun.
