    That was the last time my hair was cut short.....have always been able to comb it since...at one time a pony-tail half way down my back.

    My parents made me get a buzz-cut when I was a kid. Then my dad let me have a little to comb. When I was about 14 I bitched so much that my dad said, "OK. But from now on you pay for your own haircuts." I let it grow so long that even I hated it. So I finally found a barber and that was that.

    Until I left home when I turned 19, my hair length was controlled by my parents: could not touch my collar or ears, and sideburns could not extend below my ears. That changed when I left home and was totally on my own.

    I cut my own hair now. Wet the hair and comb it back...then cut it straight across at the top of the collar: then comb it all forward into my face and cut it up the sides around the outside of my eyes and then above my eyes. Hate hair in my face anymore. I do this about three times a year at no cost.
