    He sheared the dowels that hold the bottom of the shutter frame to the long side frame pieces. I may not have to clamp them when I glue them as I plan on using counter sunk screws to replace the wooden dowels. By over drilling the side frame pieces and using a small drill for the portion in the bottom frame piece, I should be able to pull the entire frame together sufficiently snug. The only potential problem is getting all of the louvers in place...about 15 of them.....hopefully, this will not be impossible for me to do without having to build a jig of some sort to hold everything in place while allowing sufficient flexibility to allow me to get the louver pins into the side frame holes.....

    22 years ago, I bought all of the framed louver sections (many different standard sizes), cut them down to fit, painted and sanded and painted and sanded, etc. then assembled them with the appropriate small hinges and mounted them on a window frame which I then attached to the walls at the front of the windows. I know how they work and I know how they are assembled, so I am hoping I can make this repair as I do not know if I can buy any replacement sections that will match. All of the spare sections I saved are not the right size for my small bedroom windows. :?
