I'm not tired at the moment. I think the food woke me up a little. Plus, if I were a normal guy I'm at about 3:00 in the afternoon if you flip the midnight shift to a day shift.

There is a tropical low sitting almost due west of Gainesville centered about 250 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico. It is pulling a huge mass of serious rain towards us which is just now beginning to reach the coast. If this does not clear out over night, it looks like I will not be riding tomorrow morning. It would be a very small sacrifice if we can get some significant rainfall here.

The weather guy here says that system will be on the news for the snow it brings the northeast later this week. Plus, I saw the graphic for the expected rain in FLA. Looks like a lot!

Yes indeed! Documented and downloaded into my GPS that mounts to my bike. It has a bluetooth ear piece so I can hear the verbal directions and heads ups.

Our weekend weather guy is one of the best TV meteorologists in the country. He got promoted to producer though, and only does the TV weather on some weekends. Plus, he's short and bald, and they figure people don't to look at that every night.

That is exactly what we need.....about 6 to 10 of those type systems to move over north central Florida between now and October.....just a weak tropical low disturbance....no tropical storms and certainly no hurricanes.

I doubt it.....pressures that low are associated with much severe storms (wind). In addition, it will be moving over land too soon for any additional development to occur. I do not have any info on the pressure in the center of the low, but would imagine it is only about 29.4"

 

I will set my alarm for 7 AM and check the radar tomorrow mornng to see if the ride is a possibility. Would be nice if the rain moves thru tonight, not only for my ride, but more importantly for the Harley National Nitro Drag finals scheduled for tomorrow here. Hate to see that event rained out. They don't start running until noon though, so they have a better chance of getting it in than my ride as I have to leave out of here by 10 AM.
