Sorry to be gone so long PM, but we went out to eat, well, went out to get food and brought it back to eat....then walked the dogs. Wife is a coupon nut....got two BK whoppers and two large fries for $6 plus tax. Cheap food tastes better!

I just ate my own semi-healthy dinner (it included broccoli).

 

dogs got me up at 5 AM this morning....seems the wife let them out and there was an opossum....large adult...in the back yard. I don't think they attacked it, but cornered it and were barking their heads off. Wife could not get them back inside, so I had to get up to do it. Then eat breakfast....being a holiday, I did not want to start making noise outside until 9 AM. So I started at a little after 8 hauling out my machines and tools....then did the quiet stuff until a bit after 9. Hot day....drank 120 ounces of low cal GatorAid (I buy the power mix as it is much cheaper). So when the wife came home about 7:30 tonight....I was a bit hungry!

 

I am really dragging tonight......I am going to put the dogs down for the night, then hit the sack myself. Hope to catch you tomorrow PM.

I'm not sure if the neighbors are blowing off fireworks or hand grenades and I'm a little reluctant to step outside to find out.

 

Lots of home-grown fireworks here, too. But I'm in a well-policed area. Some places around here sound like a war zone.

 

They're illegal in Illinois, but in Wisconsin they're not, and they sell the whole kit and kaboodle up there, not just the inane "safe and sane" types. Illini's bring 'em in by the trunkload. The whole area sounds like a very hot warzone, it's insane!

 

Detroiters drive to Ohio to do the same thing. But, this year, our wise legislature repealed the restrictions, so you can get 'em here, too.

 

In Nevada they sell the safe and sane types during the week leading up to the 4th, when it's legal to have them. The Indian reservations sell them all year long and even provide launch pads at some of their locations.

 

I'm not a fan of the heavy stuff being available to the public.

It appears to be tapering off. My sister's dog had a minor seizure earlier, a combination of heat and noise I think. He has a nervous disorder that makes him kind of shaky at the best of times, poor baby. Some TLC fixed him right up though.
