Just 2 weeks ago I got pissed about another employee calling my boss because I didn't drop everything I was doing and take care of her problem. Mind you now, what I working on was something that my boss told me I had to have done by the EOBD or we'd risk losing money, what she needed done was a mediocre task that would only make her job easier, not save any money or do anything for healthcare. So I preceded to tell her that. She then preceded to call my boss and tell him how disrespectful that comment was. He calls me in his office and gives me a speech that basically boils down to this: 'You work for a healthcare organization in a customer service environment, your job is to make the customer happy first.' My response " Yessir, but what you told me to get finished has to do with the money this place collects, I was trying to get it done' His: 'Just take care of what she needs'

That's the mentality of corporate America.

You do what you have to do to take care of your own, that's how I was brought up. I've a wife and 3 kids that's MY responsibility to make sure they have what they need. If that means eating shit to do...so be it. That's just the way it is.

Exactly, that's my point. He gives me a demand to get something done but yet tells me to stop and take care of what a whiney ass bitch wants just so he doesn't have to hear it. If I had not taken care of her then finished what he wanted I'd heard a bunch of shit. So what do you do? Again, just deal with it.

I'm not sure I agree with the economy dropping to zero. The mentality of the upper class US is still to take care of putting money in the hand that feeds them..meaning whether that's a politician trying to get elected or a dept. manager trying to get a VP position, they all act the same. I don't see how these people acting as they should would make anything other than a positive impact on the economy but that's all I'll go into about that. That's actually probably more than I've ever said on such topics.
