taking the dogs out, then putting them to bed....back there after.

 

Here's how it went: A stranger saw my car and left a note with his number on it, saying he wanted it: We'll call him "1." The guy who bought it back will be "2." ... I called 1 3 weeks ago to see if he was really interested. He said yes. I told him it would be about 3 weeks. I called him a week ago to say the sale was on. He said OK. I called him to set up a meeting tonight at 6:15 here. He didn't show. I called him FOUR times in 1.5 hours and he didn't call me back. I was pissed. I called 2 and told him the deal and the price I was offered, and told him I'd rather he have it than a stranger, but it had to be tonight. He said OK, and that was that. I still haven't heard from 1.

Walked outside and was struck by the odor of wood smoke. A curious smell when the temp is 80 degrees. :33:

 

Might that be from the San Diego area? We have had smoke skies here from big forest fires in Texas before......

 

Some people put wood in their grills instead of charcoal. Maybe?

I don't think so, the air is too clear. I circled the house and checked everywhere inside, no sign of fire. That's my primary concern.

Possibly. There was no meat smell to it though, nor that of charcoal or mesquite.
