I use AVG, malwarebytes and windows defender and haven't had any problems at all.

False representation of law enforcement is a federal crime in the US. Get caught doing it and you are seriously fucked.

 

I have had problems... but only on other peoples computers, which didn't have any AV or firewalls

I think I had an infestation a couple of years ago, it was a big one over 100 viruses. the pc got so busy trying to stop them that I couldn't work on it for a while until they all got stopped or thrown out

 

50F (10C) is my limit to being warm, anything below is cold

it's a crime here too, but these viruses often doesn't come from within Sweden and then there's not a whole lot they can do about it or are willing to spend time investigating it

 

The FBI loves to spend time on hopeless causes, it's what they live for.

the thing is scribes like the one points out that its hard to find the source of the virus origin. There are different variations of the same virus code so if your in the states you could get the same virus but it might say that FBI has monitored your actions and will lock your computer until you pay. Fun that they suggest that i should pay my fine via 7eleven.

Allt races of the bug is gone.

 

i dont think i needed combofix like you said the one but i prefer to play it safe if the bug got deeper than what malwarebytes can get too.

7eleven?? they want you to go to a gas station to pay a ransom to get your pc working again

it doesn't hurt to do it properly. but as you already found out this one is dead easy.. well not as easy as another one I found on a friends pc.. that one almost rendered the pc useless, but all you had to do was to uninstall it and it was gone forever.

 

the thing is when i removed the power cord from my computer so it ran on the batteries instead i could easily install malwarebytes. So nice job on that lockdown, i can see if people get frightened when it says cops with capital letters. But read through the information and it is to see its bogus.

 

I think I had to start in safe mode when I removed it last time... had to and had to.. I usually do that as it makes some things easier.
