    I don't know about the Vegas Odds makers, but the sports announcers were close to a 50/50 split on who would win.....and ND was ranked No. 1 and Bama No. 2......:dunno:

    Alabama was at least a 10 point favorite.

    just read this online: This is the biggest spread for a national championship game since 2003, when Miami was favored by 12 over Ohio State. I think analyst picked ND with the points.

    no doubt. ESPN hyped it to the nth degree ... and college football fans accept all this crap .. endless bowls with mediocre teams ... I liked when it was decided ny New Years Day. Too much "inventory" to spread out now ... same thing with college basketball. OMG how many games are on TV ... High School games even.

    Well, wasn't ND the only undefeated team that play a somewhat reasonable schedule? I don't disagree with you Merlin as no system will ever be perfect. Interesting to note that Alabama's only loss was to Texas A & M who also kick butt in the (?) Cotton Bowl.

    I'm all for a play-off system. Include more though. They want money, give it to them. Go with a play in with the 24th & 25th and go from there. What team had 40 + days off till they played their Bowl. That would spell that BS.
