    no, they never did any racial related stories on Voyager. They did on Deep Space Nine though a few times, most specifically with Captain Sisko.

    I guess my argument has always been aginst the Voyager people taking a non-racial species type and turning it into a statement, that's all im saying. Then again I just hate it when new shows mess with old characters. I hated the new Cylons too.

    did they? Well, that would be broken as well. All the Romulans should have been done like the Nemesis ones IMO. They totally redid Klingons for TNG, why not Romulans?

    actually, they redid the Klingons in the Kirk & Co. movies ;)

    My point of view, is that I don't see the big deal about having multi-colored alien races.

    yes, for the 1960's I can understand why they didn't do that cause of all the politics of the time

    but 20+ years later for the new shows and those politics are now gone, what's wrong with expanding it?

    that's all I'm sayin

    IMO the entire Voyager show was about political statements, more than about fun or a good show. It's rather like poor Riker. They wanted to split wisdom from action. Total failure. Picard started doing action and Riker was left pretty much with nothing to do.

    Not really. I like new things and new ideas, but I'm generally opposed to a no talent hack swiping someone else's genius to promote his dumbass opinion. Take LotR. I've been reading the books for almost 40 years.. Am i the least bit interested in Jackson's take on Tolkien? Not the least fucking bit.

    It doesnt really matter what genre it is either. Take the Dukes of Hazzard. loved watching it as a kid. New movie totally reversed everything about it to make the Dukes worthless, where they used to be the heros. Fuck that.

    wanna make a statement? write your own fucking story. Only problem with that is nobody gives a fart in a whirlwind about the losers making tv/movies today. Generally because their opinions are crap, and their story telling ability is slightly worse than the grafitti scrawled above the urinals at the local dive.
