It was very arousing. Which, considering i was walking out the door to start my day, was a tad problematic.

 

I have never heard of it, sorry. I'm not all that familiar with anime stuff since I can't stand it

`Returner` isn't anime; basic plot seemed to be `the future, Earth getting it's ass handed to it by this super technologically advanced aliens. Desperate, they send a single female warrior back in time to a specific point in the timeline to either figure out how it all went tits up or save the day - trailer was never clear. She gets mixed up in modern day criminal politics, people smuggling etc etc`

Looked pretty good in the trailer, hence the obsessiveness. But it was the same with Casshern, which i thought sounded fucking awesome. But when i snagged it cheap at Blockbuster, it was total, uncomprehensible shit.

 

I'm aiming to get my 5k before close of business tonight, say 2200, so i've got about 6.5 hours to go and 233 more posts to make.

Shit, no - this was back in VHS days. I think it was in front of Battle Royale. One of the few Asian films i recommend to fucking everybody.

ST3 - i could see what Verhoeven was trying to do; religion and war, parellels with the present climate. But the execution was atrocious. Two best lines are Jolene Blalock (woeful) `He's talking about a bug` after Anoke (a singing Sky Marshal? Really?) `names` God. And Marnette Patterson (looking awesome in skirt and boots) saying, with all seriousness, `But it's the wrong God!`

Mutant Chronicles - relied way too much on prior knowledge.

The only other sci-fi film i've got waiting to be watched is Southland Tales. I know, i know, it's going to be total shit, but i've got to watch it to know for sure it's total shit.

Even though i fucking hated Donnie Darko. Bunch of overblown nonsense, barely saved by the sheer presence of Jena Malone.

And I liked Donnie Darko, I thought it was a good flick, I havn't seen it in years though

 

Southland Tales is the abortion of a flick that the guy that made Donnie Darko did. In 2006. But was reshot, rehashed, bitched out by the audience at Cannes, re-edited again then dumped in cinemas. Where it sank like a stone.

Dwayne Johnson, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sean William Scott etc etc, future-ish, post-nuclear attack on the US, three stories in one timeline or some weird shit.
