    Wasn't sure if I should post this question in this forum or the general forum, but since it's an art related topic I chose this one.

    I appreciate all the cool sigs that other members have made for me but I would like to give it a try myself. My comp isn't great so photoshop prob wouldn't run very well on it. I think it would be best if I started of with something simple anyway until I get a better feel for the stuff. My comp is 1.6GHZ and a little over 1 gig ram. I know it's not great but if anyone knows of a basic program I can mess around with I'd appreciate it.

    I started out with gimp for a few months before I went to photoshop. It's a great bit of free software and is genuinely good for a bit of practice and to get used to some of the tools. Once used to it then switch to CS3.

    I don't want to change for CS3 or 4, too scared to be lost. :lol:

    I have CS4 on my Mac, no noticeable difference between 3 and 4, but then again I'm no pro so for what I do, it appears the same.

    Donny I've never used Gimp in my life, but I can't recommend Photoshop enough. If you can find a free workable version it's worth it. It has a great capability for design and there's so much in the program that it makes you evolve and improve as an artist.

    Good to hear, I've been thinking about upgrading to CS4 but I didn't know if it was worth the hassle of wasting ratio and finding a working serial.

    I think I'll stick with CS3 for now!

    I think Donny only needs to find a working key so he can change CS2 tryout to a normal version.

    or just grab 6 or 7. for starting out, theyre easy to find, smaller to get, simple serials instead of hacks.

    Running both CS3 extended and CS4 extended ...

    Installed CS4 some months ago ...
    Before running the application do a manual register override:
    * Add the following line to your hosts-file
    * (C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts):
    * 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
    * Use Any Of The Keymaker to register the application. (search for a working keygen on the netz, there still out there)

    Difference between 3 and 4: better workspace for adjustment layers mainly ... means if your into some real photo editing (tiff and raw)...get CS4 ...
    just for sigs and composites/brush work ... CS3 (even CS2) is more than you need.

    Top 3 plug-ins:
    - good pair of eyes
    - patience
    - coffee and sigarettes ;)
