  3. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    Hi,

could also be named as "answer to:why are my threads deleted constantly"...

Why does it look like it´s such a big deal adding screencaps to vid-threads?

    streaming vids:
press "pause", press "shift" + "printscreen" simultanously, open any image-processing program like www.irfanview.com, www.xnview.com or whatever is on your HD or on the web, "paste" into "new document", maybe edit to cut off things of your desktop you don´t want to show us, save as .jpg. The rest is easy

files you are hosting on RS etc.:
get yourself a copy of Imagegrabber II, install it, browse your vid-folder and select the vid you want to post, type the ammount of caps you want to generate, save them and again, the rest is easy

Stopped counting all the maybe nice vids getting trashed because of missing caps... too bad.
    So ... caps sell.

    Thanks!

Media Player Classic is also a very good program.

i know ... and some others too, but too less, at least for me.
this is just another of my "bump"-threads with some reminders of our rules here... doing this every now and then on occasion (mostly after trashing some 10 threads not regarding the rules...) :-|

Intructions like these are probably why some people have big problems making caps.
If your computer uses the videocard's overlay to render video, Print-screen does not work.

This will be the case for most people. So:
    - Download MediaPlayerClassic and use its "Save Image" function
    - Or use ImageGrabberII to make those nice multi-image captures that you see everywhere these days.

Actually I'm starting to fall in love with my VLC media player. Of course I have to use Image Grabber 2 to finish the indexes but VLC is sweet, I highly recommend it. It plays everything.

I know it's an old thread, but the message remains the same.
