Rapidshare has changed their Premium Accounts

Apparently Rapidshare has changed their Premium Accounts. It used to tell me I had so many megabytes left to download (it used to be 10 gigs for 10 Euros - 12.2177 US as of this post). Today it tells me my account is good until January 8th, 2006. They are showing 6 months for 19.95 Euros, which is 19.95 EUR = 24.3767 USD

I knew it, the RS$$$ program was too good to be true... oh well, he has to try and make his money somehow.

 

So it's basicly unlimited downloads for 6 months? That seems better unless it takes you longer than 6 months to use up 10G.

 

I lost my account and password... it still had 12gb on it...

fucking nuts.

 

I used up my first 10 gigs in about 2 1/2 months and bought a second account. The ability to use a download manager and no waiting time made it worth my bucks.

 

Yeah it's good to get the long scenes/movies which have been split, and since my ISP has limited peak downloads I can schedule the movies to download during the unlimited off-peak times.

Although the unlimited downloads is good, the time limit is kinda disappointing. As SemiPimpster suggested I think the RS$ proved too costly, I know I only uploaded one video using RS$ but everytime I logged in I had more downloads than I started with depite downloading a couple of gigabytes.

 

So RS$ are no more then?

Bollocks. I got a premium account last week just so i could build up some RS$ for downloading stuff but even though my files were being downloaded every time i signed in it said i had 0 RS$. Still says that but i also get that the account is vaild until 06/01/08 now as well.

 

The payoff from rapidshare $$ has changed. Instead of xMB downloaded x times = yMB in additional downloads, he now says every download produces 1second more on your account. I really hope his english is bad, and he revises this soon. I bought a 10euro account 2 weeks ago, have almost 19000 rapidshare $$$, and he is telling me my account expires in Jan/06. There is a month added on so far, it's not clear if I get unlimited downloads until then or if I still have a cap. I'm waiting for an email that lets me know.

 

I don't think you'll get an e-mail Phun Fan since most sites tell you they can change their service without notifying you. As far as the unlimited d/l go, you should be able to get as much as you want. I've downloaded much more than 50mb/hr

 

rapidshare have pissed me off with this, i like to be selective with what i download(20gb harddrive :-| ) and i don't like to wait if i can help it, so buying a premium account and getting extra mb's through their $$$ sceme was perfect, now they have stripped this and added a time limit to accounts, when my account ends, i won't be buying a new one :-(

 

I think it´s actually a good update, although 1 minute bonus for each download is some funny shit.. It really depends on how much you download. In addition for people that are behind proxy, is this very often the only way how to use RS, since accounts are cookie based.
