What have you two contributed to this forum? Not contributing anything, but complaining is not cool in my opinion.

I, for example, will not share any xxx-upload through RS anymore because I don't see any incentive for me as uploader to use RS. For me as uploader, there is no reward for my RS.com uploads. Before the change, I used RS to extend my premium account. Although my RS account is still good for many years, uploading there won't help me anymore to extend that account. The only thing I'll use RS for is backup. I still upload all my files there and remote them to HF and with hotfile's backup feature, re-uploading only takes one second. I don't see why that is a bad thing for you leechers?

I never liked cash-hosts, but since the RS bullshit, I started using hotfile and SM. My main host will now be HF, because it's a widely used host by now and I see at least some reward for my work. To be perfectly clear: I'm not using HF for the cash, otherwise I would have used it since the beginning. However, there is no other host, which has at least SOME reward for the uploaders (for example extending premium account through bonus points) and which is easy to use because it doesn't have many restrictions.

I'll also provide SM mirrors just to have a mirror in the beginning until HF has become the new RS (which will happen for sure).

Maybe the leechers should think about the uploaders as well, and not only about how they get their porn most quickly.

MegaUpload is a No-Go because of its stupid 100MB-restrictions and there is NO other host I can think of.

As an uploader, what's the difference between uploading a 500Mb file or 5x100Mb files?

As a downloader, obviously a single 500Mb file would be preferable to a 5x100Mb split archive but, from what I've seen, most uploaders on HF are splitting files greater than 200Mb anyway (some a lot less...). Looking at this from a leecher's perspective, I would rather go to MU and download my 5x100Mb files with a 45 second wait in-between each file than go to HF, download my first 200Mb, wait for 30 mins, get the next 200Mb, wait for another 30 mins and finally get the last 100Mb.

Who cares about leechers? Well, the dozen-or-so 'thanks' for a post are hardly representative of the 100-plus downloads that actually get registered and help pay towards your premium account. So I care.

MU's rewards system appears to be a similar model to RS before they decided to shoot themselves in the foot - ie, an uploader can earn points towards paying for their premium account as users download the files they offer. Yes, there is also a cash incentive but it is not exactly sizeable and the majority of us will be old and grey by the time we qualify. HF, on the other hand, appears to be encouraging all of their premium users to aggressively sell more premium accounts through the links they offer in order to earn their rewards. This encourages more premium users to offer more links and more files and this is why this board is now so full of new topics. And I use the word 'new' very loosely.

Before RS decided to commit suicide, MU was always the alternative choice and seemed to me to be the natural successor without any need to allow other alternative hosts on to the board. Is anybody really happy now that they have been? Really? The quality of the board has been improved as a result?

Come on Mods. We've had two weeks of this farce, it's time to put a stop to it. Enough discussion. Let's have some action.

In order to get points from MU, the file size must be 100 or less so the downloader must go through the tortuous process of visiting and revisiting the MU website with the snowball chance in hell hope that you will just throw in the towel and join MU. In other words it does not FINANCIALLY BENEFIT the uploader unless he slices & dices the file down to bit sized lil smokie snacks.

EXACTLY... Thus Cashwhore spammers avoid it for shit hosts like SM and to a lesser but still considerable degree HF. more power to MU.

 

i realize i'm a relative newcomer, but i'd like to share my opinion also. the video forum was one of the best on the internet because of the rules only to use MU or RS. most of the people posted high-quality vids, there were no spammers or bots.

now that HF and SM are available the place has been flooded with the shame crap that's on all the other forums. there's not as much camaraderie as there used to be either.

Didn't Phun used to require the file host name (RS, MU, etc.) in the title of the new thread or post? This would limit the spam because either the thread would be removed for not following the rules or people would avoid certain hosts all together.

In the past if I saw (RS) in the thread title I wouldn't even bother to click it.

 

Problem with THAT theory is that there are enough lurker/leachers on Phun who don't give any more of a rip for the integrity of the board than the cashwhores do that will download the bullshit right along with the quality stuff.

 

Allowing hotfile & sharingmatrix has screwed up this site. Phun is no longer a fun site, it's just like all the other porn forums. Also now I need a proxy to access it. Please stop hotfile & sharingmatrix as in the last couple of days there have been countless reposts in the sexy videos section. Let megaupload take the place of RS instead of allowing hotfile & sharingmatrix. Both those sites work well only if you have a premium account. At least hotfile can be tolerated to some extent but sharingmatrix is just crap.

Uploading a file is a good deal slower than downloading times, and with a large file I would have to sit for a long time to ensure it went up okay; often with a large file the connection crashes, and you have to start all over again.

 

it's maybe brilliant from downloader's side, but it totally sucks from uploader's point of view

 

11-13 pages in a 24 hour period, compared to what used to be 3 or 4 pages of pretty good quality stuff.

Yeah, allowing SM was a GREAT idea.

 

don't like cats? prolly you just don't know how to cook them I don't know a single filehoster I can say it's perfect - they all have flaws and in all honesty sharingmatrix isn't among the worst ones, it's almost always a matter of proper tool, for SM (and all others) I'd recommend free jDownloader to download everything, sure it's a bit harder than clicking a link in a browser and complain. And yes, I upload to SM and yes, my opinion is probably biased big time

I'm trying out a premium acct with SM and so far the only flaw I see is that it is still slower than a free MU! Can anyone suggest a way to dl faster? SM averages about 450kb/sec while the free MU regularly hits about 1MB/sec. Just want to see if I can speed up the dl on my SM acct. THX!

 

if you're using browser, you can't, if some download manager - download several files simultaneousely or use multipart downloads

 

Payed for an premium account on sharingmatrix, money right out of the window. This site is just crap now, thanks a lot.
