Sharingmatrix and Hotfile

Rapidshare isn't quite dead as far as this board is concerned - there are a few people that still post new files there but, since they now charge you to keep more than 10Gb as 'protected' files per 30 day/99 rapids package, these files will, most likely be gone after 60 days. Certainly all of mine will as I'm moving to MU...

Megaupload was the second most popular host on this board before that dark day on the 26th June when HF and SM were allowed. To my mind an infinitely more preferable option for both uploader and downloader but, unfortunately, me and a few others appear to be now be in a minority...

All I can say is, keep checking as there will always be people who prefer to post to MU.

 

I don't think so, as hotfile is establishing itself as the new RS.

I have discovered a workaround searching via google... to place "ssi" after http:// ...then the rest of the address for the download.

This works and I am able to download

it is for the 10 min waiting problem with sharingmatrix

I refuse to click a sharingmatrix link. Even if it's one of my favorite porn stars. The site is shit. The wait is shit. The speed is shit. The wait in between downloads is the biggest shit in the history of big shits. If I took a shit that big, my ass hole would bleed for a week. I can not believe that it's been an allowed host on this site for as long as it has.

Simply not clicking on Spammatrix links, is actually the easiest way to work around the problem. Just don't support the people who are ruining this great forum, by using that abysmal host.

How on earth we are now heading in to week three of this garbage host being allowed here, is just completely batshit insane. The members here at the forum want this spam host gone with a 10-1 ratio. Why on earth the mods and admins have let this continue is pretty well incomprehensible.

I'd say most regular downloaders here will be gone in less than a week. People just aren't willing to continue putting up with this rubbish. Especially since the mods and admins seem unwilling to put a stop to this avalanche of shit-porn spamming spammatrix posters.

It's a real shame to say the least. Because this forum has tumbled from top 3 on the web, to easily out of the top 100.

Simply "not clicking" will not resolve the problem. The people who reply to posts are just the tip of the iceberg, there are gazillions of glommers who never reply.

For instance, I post foot and fetish on several forums, and use mega and rs accounts. In tracking replies vs downloads it works out to 85 downloads vs one reply. It may vary on phun.org.

Also, the SM spammers never re-visit a post once they put it up, they are too busy going to the next post or forum. They will continue to post until the host and they are banned. This is the only way to truly clean it up.

Another thing that sucks about this is how long it takes to go through a day's worth of posts. It used to be 3-5 pages was a days worth of posts. Now it's like fucking 10. And the extra 5-7 pages are posts with some bullshit title that takes you to a sharingmatrix link. It's fucking pointless. Who even looks at those posts anyways?

But those are just annoyances. The worst thing about sharingmatrix being an allowed host is that good members with good threads are using it. And you can't blame them for using sharingmatrix. They'd be doing themselves a disservice by not using it. But what is the point of using a file host that you can't practically download from? This is an example that seems to be a common problem: Someone uploads a vid using sharingmatrix and hotfile links. The video is a three part download. You can download two parts right away but you'd have to wait a half hour to use hotfile, or wait ten minutes to use sharingmatrix but download it at a much slower speed. So basically, it takes about 40 minutes to download a video. Think about how many kick ass vids are posted in this forum. I'd still be downloading videos from 2009 at that rate.

Ban sharingmatrix, let people use hotfile, I'll get a hotfile premium account, and my porn world will be back to normal. Fuckin hell man.

 

As for using SM if you have a premium acct there is no problem. I have both HF and SM premium accts and SM is actually faster than HF. Just my opinion.

 

Evidently you don't read well... Have you missed all the posts in these several threads where people have bought Shitmatrix premium accounts and still had copious problems (slow downloads, inability to download at all, never sent their account/login details) nope sorry, fail.

Evidently you don't read polls either... the current "Dump Shitmatrix" poll is somewhere around 150 to 15 to dump the piece of crap and those huge numbers some people are fond of throwing around include 'members' who are inactive and have been for years, 'members' who were NEVER active and those who simply lurk and leach. The Mods and Admins are VERY aware of the problem and they are having problems of their own just keeping up with shitcanning all the SpamCrap that's been posted since Shitmatrix was allowed and they HAVE said that something will be done about it, whether Shitmatrix will get the well-deserved fuck-off it has coming or if the board rules will be changed to end the spam/crapathon is still under debate by the powers that be. Like it or not Shitmatrix has put a large damper on Phun since it's been allowed and most of the regulars who have been here a while and been active don't want to see Phun go the way of so many other boards and become just another low-quality, no personality wasteland.

By the way, that poll I quoted has the most responses of ANY poll I've seen here on Phun.

21, sharingmatrix is crap. How much do you make out of it BTW? Imagine all the downloads you could have had if you had used a different filehost, one that was not shit.

 

I make a point of clicking "Thanks" on every single video I download from here. If I think the vid is outstanding, I leave a reply thanking the uploader. To date I have thanked 797 people for their efforts here since I joined.
But I haven't clicked "Thanks!" on a single shitmatrix link. Know why?
Because I CAN'T download them. They DO NOT WORK for me. EVER
So I leave a little message sometimes, asking politely if the file could possibly be upped somewhere else as well. They never reply. So I won't be doing that again.
And thus, that uploader not only misses out on that one file being DL'd by me, but every other file they will ever put up because I see their name at the side of a thread and I ignore it. That happens every time someone posts a vid hosted on shitmatrix.

I'd be willing to bet I am nowhere near the only one too.

Now look at the numbers on the poll. 158 for, 20 against, and 20 to replace shitmatrix with another host.
Why... that's nearly 200! Thus indicating a LARGE chunk of active posters here feel that way.
(guests, incidentally, can't usually vote on a VBulletin board. They have to be logged in. SO discount them immediately, because they quite literally don't count)
You use shitmatrix yourself. And YOU are losing people downloading your vids. People aren't getting them because they don't like having to wait 10 fucking minutes just to see if their capricious servers will even let them HAVE the file. Just remember that when you're "whining" about no-one liking shitmatrix.
