Sharingmatrix and Hotfile

^^^ Yet another specific symptom of what's happening to Phun since the approval of the cashwhore hosts and influx of a LOT of new dickheads as members or coming out of the closet of accounts that have been here a while but relatively inactive (many seemingly for good reason). SOS!!!

 

If your post is withing the 2 week rule, then I would be happy to trash can the other post and allow you to re-up a new link either using the same host or a different one, but if your thread/post is outside the 2 week rule, then someone else is allowed to offer the same video with a different host or even the same one.

If someone is going to offer a new link, they need to at least reference the original post/thread, a small consideration for the OP, but something nonetheless.

 

I agree, I have been amazed at some of the users who barely gave this place a look, but now seem to be posting away using the new allowed hosts.

 

Also those video posts that are only 5-10mb, they are instant trash, report them as you find them, nothing good can be held to 5-10mb, just a quick link for some DB to grab some coin.

 

You can make quick cash on MU too. They just require you pay once for a Premium account then you can request your payment to the account you paid them from. And only files under 100MB earn cash. Seems to be lost among complaints about the other hosts. People have been cash whoring here all along. I wanna hear the complaints to ban MU too from the people who say ban HF & SM cause they pay. Are you losing the money you were making from MU now with people downloading from more hosts?

 

^ That's what I've been doing with my old RS links. Unfortunately, I'm betting that's what a lot of these new cashwhores are doing as well except they take other peoples links and simply remote upload them into their own accounts.

 

Well thanks for the clarity, although I must say the 2 week rule really sucks ass. Now any post that I have posted beyond the 2 week mark is fair game for these predators. I usually come to phun at least 2 to 3 time a day and if anyone ever pm me to re-up a link of a past post, regardless of how old, I usually dig up the scene and re-upped it, even doing the RS glory days. Now, all of these morons, come in search for your expired post and then attempt to cash in on them, giving you(THE ACTIVE MEMBER) a big and a :madfawk:

I guess if this is the way the forum is going, I will have to get out my umbrella I had when dealing with Rapidshare. I am starting to get that old feeling of getting pissed on and being told its raining! :umbrella:

 

For me, both HF and SM are the pits. As a free user, both have s-l-o-w d/l's and HF can take hours to d/l a large clip because of d/l time restrictions.

For me, the only host worse than HF or SM is NL. Tons of pop-ups, and S-L-O-W d/l speeds (never have gotten over 40 Kbps).

Have heard the same from a few others (especially in the USA).

And not only that but injecting their opinions on how the board should be run and how great SM and HF are when we've not heard word 1 from them in the past in discussions about Phun issues nor I suspect have they ever offered 1 iota of help to the mods in policing some of the crap stuff that goes on. Seems a bit curious that they are suddenly experts on all things Phun doesn't it?!?

 

I have been downloading from RS for quite some time now, and today all of a sudden I have a 5G download limit with my account. I'd like to shift to one downloader source that has the same capabilities (ie; speed, quality and capacity) as RS. The major problem is most posters have selected one favorite or another and it's cost prohibitive to get Premium memberships in all of "today's" big three (HF,SM and MU). Looks like I'll have to get very selective in RS until my account expires and hope things settle down and the majority of the uploaders settle on one source. I have a feeling many others are in the same boat.

 

I am trying to get out of my agreement with Rapidshare. They changed their policy and I cannot agree with the new terms and conditions. Until EU laws (they are a German company) they should honor my request but alas they now play the ones that cannot be reached for anything to this extend. I guess I will have to use legal force to get them responding.

For me these new conditions are really a nail to their coffin and I want out before they are gone anyway. Preferably with my money back.

 

Ever bother to read your 'user agreement'? I'm willing to bet that there's a clause in there that reads something like:

"We reserve the right to change the terms and conditions of this service at any time without any warning and there's not a fucking thing you can do or say about it, so get bent."

or words to that effect.

Oh and it also probably says:

"File a lawsuit or attempt to take any legal action against us and we'll bend you over and gently insert our corporate penis up your rectum and vigorously pump until you bleed out your eyes, and you'll end up paying US for that privilege."

 

They are a Swiss based company! NOT GERMAN.

I've tried Sharingmatrix 4 different times today, each time it says some shit about free users only being able to download 1 file at a time and to upgrade to premium. How could you be attempting to download multiple files when it won't even let you download one?

I can't believe it's even under consideration.

 

Yea i given up on even trying to use it.
I stick with HF & RS.

 

Interesting to note today's e-mail from RS saying that they have heard the complaints about the changes and are responding accordingly.

They're still going to charge, but now only ONE package. 99 rapids per month for <10 Gb stored and <30 Gb downloaded.

So I guess they are responding to the small users, not the uberposters, who would be required to purchase another 99 rapids DURING the month when they exceed storage or traffic quotas.

This should be the death knell for RS for the major forum post providers. Too bad.

Hmmm... so I have 120 gigs stored. If I do not DL like a maniac and I do not click the Keep Files Forever option - will it still be 99 rapids per month or do they ding me for the extra storage somehow?

*Edit - never mind it seems they will not charge as long as it is unchecked: "Unused traffic volume does not expire. You will only be charged for additional storage if you activate the keep files forever option."
