it can be IF the conditions are perfect. That was a rare one. They usually dont get that fierce. What i have to explain is that eventough it is hurricane force winds we dont get whirls like you would see in for example united states. Its just normal weather fronts with rain or snow.

 

Tell me about it Bama one of the pinetrees has acted a lightningrod. And the top of it is dead im gonna take it down at some point. No reason to have a half dead tree in the yard.

 

That's called straight line winds here, we get those too...more than tornadoes actually. Those happen when 1 of the fronts take over the other...so there's no "twisting" action.

here you both can see the amount of damage that hurricane made on private treeowners. Its someones money lying there. Dont get me wrong all the sawmills in Sweden did what they could too produce products but devestation was too big.

its 2 meters from my house and maybe 25 meters high it would be around 82 feet in height i think.

That was from the "state" that got hit worst. But as you know weather of that caliber will affect a big portion of a country. My state only had powerblackout problems. Many people live on teh countryside and when you have country with big pinetreeforrests you get branches and old trees falling down on the powerlines.
