Well, did not see the deer, but the dog behavior indicated they were in the area.

 

Dogs know.

 

They smell them.....they both sniff the air, then start a zig-zag pattern of rapid ground sniffing to pick up their tracks, etc.

 

I've seen a couple of areas just off the property where a deer has laid down and slept.

 

I would really like to know where our neighborhood deer are spending their days......

 

That's a good question!

 

I think deer really stay on their feet in the day to forage all over their area, as well as to be ready to run if there's danger. Not much time to lie down.

 

Well, we only see our deer at night....i.e. when it is dark, from early evening to an hour or so before dawn. I just checked google map of my area using the aerial photo view and estimate there is about 15 acres of woods just to the west of our subdivision. I would bet that is where they spend their days.

 

It has to be that. Is there a stream or other water source in the wooded area?

 

Yes, unless there is a severe drought.

How area doing?

 

Good. Pearl Jam concert was last night. Didn't get home until after 12:30am (got to work around 4pm).

 

Did the crowd like the show?

 

I think so, although people started leaving early. I'm guessing that's mostly because it was a weeknight and the show didn't end until around 11:30.
