    I was run off a road by an oncoming drunk driver......hit a driveway culvert with the Honda 350 ending up crammed into the 30 inch diameter concrete pipe, but I jumped before the collision, flying over the driveway and landing on my back in the soft ditch mud. I was not hurt and the DUI was caught (he actually had a sheriff deputy in pursuit and he saw the whole thing). The DUI was a prominent local (wealthy) "gentleman" and he bought a new bike and gave me $500 for my inconvenience. It was my cousin's bike, so he was happy as the original bike had over 75K miles on it. :lol:

    Pretty much out of necessity.....I had no financial help while in college. No loans, grant, etc. and no parent help as that money would have had unacceptable strings attached.....more like a very feisty, independent bastard! :lol:

    Indeed......a bit of luck and a bit of defensive driving along with pretty good biking skills back then. I also did a little amateur flat track racing.....had to quit when I melted my engine...:lol:
