I hate when that happens.

 

I'm deleting bookmarks I don't need to stop draining memory. I hope that works.

 

I'm trying not to fall asleep but I may lose that battle soon.

 

I so need to do that too. I bet a lot of the links are dead now anyway.

I have my doubts. Has that worked before on your machine (I know you're still on an old OS X that I've never even used)? But, I do wonder what caches like favicons might loaded into memory. You could look in your Library folder and delete just the favicons file or folder. Something like ~/Library/Safari/WebpageIcons.db or ~/Library/Safari/Icons. Also, clearing Safari's cache or resetting could help.

Yeah, I used to have the same and realized I never really use them. I dumped all of mine to Pinboard.in (or try Delicious or Diigo) and just use that from now on. It's nice to have them there to search when I know I'm looking for a site I've been to rather than trying to google it again. Using a service means they are also available on any browser or device now, too.

Then, in my actual browsers, I keep 20 or so bookmarks that I go to regularly just for the autocompletion.
