    Watching an old live recording of Lynyrd Skynyrd doing the breeze and man the singer Van zAnt is completely wasted on stage. Christ some band sure took a few things back then Before the shows.

    All the Van Zandts' were like that, not singling anyone out. I saw Skynyrd when they released The Last Rebel. Johnny could barely stand up. The only thing keeping him upright was the mic stand. Awesome show!!!! :headbangdude:

    yeah that is what i mean in this case. He was like a statue and the Eyes had that glanzy stare. But then again who cares its rock n roll.

    not in all songs but it seems to be an ongoing theme in both guys songs. Im not a complete expert as i havent read all the lyrics after all you listen to Music first and foremost. :)

    I think for me personally, I listen to the musicianship side of it the first few times through. Unless the lyrics really strike me as amazing. Then, I'll delve into the lyrics. I'm just glad I'm not the only one that is familiar with his work.

    for me the rock and blues music of the 70s and 80s always played a strong role. So it was just natural to come accross Cale:s work sooner or later. I mean USA is a huge source of Music in all genres.

    I found it hard to believe that some members didn't know my tastes are as diverse as they are. From C&W to Rock to Blues to Metal. I just appreciate and enjoy good musicianship. It may put me on the outs with some, it's just what I like. I can understand what you're saying.
