    ah, well why didn't you tell me you wanted to debate my point! well heck let me explain!

    An increase from $4.25 to $8.75 is an increase of 4.50 per hour. What laborers (people who work for wages) don't realise is that of that the employer has to do a matching social security tax or 6.5% or roughly $.29 more, plus you have state compensation insurance or roughly 18% of gross wages or $.81 per hour. So when you see a pay increase you only see it from a laborer's standpoint. You fail to see the other employment costs associated with hired labor. Wages is always one of the top 2 or 3 largest portion of any business. Now if you factor that all in that wage increase cost the restaurant owner an additional $1.10 per hour on top of the $4.50 wage increase. So how can you tell me any employer having to pay that much more in wages not get hit? You think burgers flip themselves and bathrooms get cleaned automatically? These remedial jobs shouldn't require somebody be paid that high an expense. I am lucky i don't live in san francisco where they are proposing ALL workers hired by any company dealing with the city to pay a living wage of over $18 dollars an hour! ;)
