My roommate and best friend's brother is currently being airlifted from Salt Lake City to Denver with a spinal injury from a skiing accident. He's been sedated since morning without moving his legs (L1 fracture).

It fucking sucks. One of those shitty situations where there's nothing you can do but wait, which is incredibly difficult.

He and his parents are flying out in the morning to be with his brother.

One would think they had pretty good medical care for that sort of thing in Salt Lake. It must be especially complicated if they're seeking out a specialist so far away. I hope your friend gets the best care possible.
