    so I just watched the documentary "Trekkies"...my god they had to pick all the insane-crazy fans to interview lol

    If a non-fan watched that thing they'd think all of us were as crazy as those people. What were they thinking when interviewing those folks!?

    I'm a fan, but i'm not so serious as to be the origins of the word `fan`. ;)

    Sure, i may sprinkle a few quotes hither and thither, drop the odd `shiny`, `frak`, `gorram` or `fei-oo` into my everyday conversations, but that just makes me different.

    I'm not about to dress as my favourite character or learn Klingon.

    I'd consider myself a pretty big Star Trek fan, but my god, those people in the doc were fucking hardcore

    They interviewed this one chic, she was a juror in this big important trial, and she wore a star trek costume with her little toy phaser and shit. To a jury. And she was being dead serious about the whole thing. Talking about how people in the military would show up wearing their uniform and since she's in a star trek club, she's gonna wear her starfleet uniform cause it's the same thing.

    I really liked TNG and DS9. I just loved some of alien creatures they created (plus, and most certainly, Data) and it's overall comment on the state of humanity and how our future can be positive, something to proud of. Roddenberry was a man of vision, and to a great extent, mirth. Worf was off the hook. Data was sublime. Quark never failed to amuse me, and Deanna Troi? :naughty:
    Was that the movie with the rock eater? The plot had something to do with searching for water? Or am I thinking of something else entirely?
