No doubt. It's fun during the games but getting them to practice and back is tuff. The wife and I split up who we take to which one depending on what's happening.

There's different types of tees. But yes, you use a tee to "tee off" - your first shot on each hole. After that you hit it where it lies off the ground.

 

At least you have some fun when you play together...

I figured it would be something like that or archaeology maybe judging from you saying all over the artic then and in different tropics now. Must be interesting.

I wouldn't change anything if I could. It's busy as hell at times but as everyone has told me - later in life i'll look back on these days and wish I were still in them.

 

Interesting when "things" are buried treasure or diamonds. Less interesting when "things" are landmines, buried nuclear waste, or any work that requires malaria pills. It's nice to be far enough along to let other people handle the scut work now

I see your point. I don't live very far from a army base that got shut down. They had a group to come in to find all the landmines on the property - it took them several years to finally clear all of it. It's a really big base, i'd be scared to even guess how many acres are on it. But no, don't think i'd enjoy doing that.

There are places all over the world like that. Texas/Washington/Colorado/Nevada are chock-full of old bombing ranges that have been built over by roads/communities. Crazy stuff.

Hazard pay goes a long way to make that type of work easier. That and heavy machinery to stir things up a bit before I send in the expendable summer students to dig around.

I love working in Alabama - had the best BBQ ribs ever there about 10 years ago at some random highschool football tailgate party. People teased me for my Canadian accent, but they fed me, so it was cool!
