How's work going? Nice to have a night off huh?

 

I'm kinda waiting to see what the Wings will do in the NHL playoffs.

What's your take on the Pistons? I haven't followed them very closely this year. Are they a contender?

 

Oh, god, yeah. They've been killing us lately.

 

Don't think they are a contender- after the Billups-Iverson trade they have been terrible. They should get either the 7 or 8 seed. If the 8 they will most likely play the Cavs in the first round. Anything can happen, but Cleveland is 38-1 at home, so I don't see them losing 4 times to Detroit. Pistons got old fast and the days of winning may be over for a couple years.

 

Do you work at UPS? I worked there for about a year and at first it was easy, until they put me in a busy truck- then it sucked.

 

No, I work at a warehouse type place. Big truck unload and lots of freight to distribute. We've been getting huge trucks lately, so lots of freight.

 

Iverson is an X-factor. I still don't know why they got rid of Billups.

 

That sucks, but at least its work and money.

 

AI is out for the rest of the year. Back injury. He's been coming off the bench and is pissed about it. Said he'd retire before he does that again, so doubt he'll be a Piston for much longer.

 

I'm speculating whether it really is a back injury. What if they made him a bench guy?

 

There's no way he will take that role. He's been saying for years that once he can't be 'the man', it's time to retire. I think he still has a year or so left, so maybe he will go to a shit team. That or maybe he can be talked into being a role player and help a good team get to the next level.

 

That makes more sense. I thought maybe Joe Dumars was pissed at him and sat him down.

 

Well that's still a possibility, he missed about 10 games with the back, came back off the bench for a few, then bitched about it. The next day he was done for the year, but it may have been that he injured it again. Hard to tell with AI.

 

That's what I'm saying. I knew he was bitching -- Joe Dumars wouldn't put up with a guy like that.

 

Its a tough call, AI is a Hall of Fame guy, but at the end of the line. So do you give in and let him start over Hamilton, or bring him off the bench? Should never have got rid of Billups, but it was a total salary dump move.

 

I say give it to Hamilton, and Iverson off the bench -- pissed and ready to get into the game.

 

I'd do that as well, but AI would be pissed and ruin the chemistry of the team.
Either way can't say I really care, only thing I'm thinking about is if the Cavs could beat the Celtics, Magic and Lakers. Next year is the last of LeBrons contract, so don't know if he will be around after that. Hope so, but New York may interest him, bigger Nike contract.

 

It's gonna be Boston, I think. Might be the Cavs, though.

 

I'm getting the feeling AI's got the team pissed at him already. Oh, well. I'll root for the Cavs over the Celts, just because one of my managers is an arrogant SOB from Boston.

 

Think Cavs can beat Boston- Garnett has been out for about 10 games with a knee- not sure how serious it is and if he'll be the same when he comes back. Plus, Cavs won 13 straight vs. Boston at home- lost 8 in a row at Boston. So if they get the 1 seed I feel ok against them. Orlando worries me more.
