Yeah it's an absolute brilliant album, I can put it on any day, any time and get completley lost in it.

Although PM Tony Williams didn't play on Bitches Brew.

Lenny White, Jack DeJohnette, Don Alias were the only 3 percussion players on the album.

Sorry, Williams played with Miles starting at age 17. But not on Bitches Brew.

    I looked it up...

    With Miles Davis:

    Seven Steps to Heaven (1963)
    Miles Davis in Europe (1963)
    Four & More (1964)
    My Funny Valentine
    Miles Davis in Tokyo (1964)
    Miles in Berlin (1964)
    E.S.P. (1965)
The Complete Live at the Plugged Nickel (1965)
    Miles Smiles (1966)
    Sorcerer (1966)
    Nefertiti (1967)
    Miles in the Sky (1968)
    Filles de Kilimanjaro (1968)
    Water Babies
    In a Silent Way (1969)

Don't get me wrong, I can still take a lot from it, it's just I found it tough. I listen to music totally differently to most of my friends though. I've been making my own music on computers for nearly 15 years and also did quite a bit of work mastering for local bands and stuff, so I analyse everything about a song down to minute details. I can't help it, and I think that's partly why I'm more interested in genres such as jazz, and artists such as Zappa. More intricate and complex music.

Wow, I didn't know he played on that many of Davis' works.

BTW those 2 are other favorites of mine, they're both so good.

It's also why I despise most pop music.

Actually I picked up a brand new 5cd album box set of Miles Davis recently for under £10. I almost felt guilty for paying so little.

If I like a song, I like a song. I gave up on a favorite type of music a long time ago.

Yeah I can relate to that, but in terms of complexity, I think (SOMETIMES) more can be said for sparse music. Take John Fahey for example, his guitar playing had little sense of timing, arrangement or repetition, but you felt his soul come through the notes he was playing.

I don't know, I guess what I'm saying is that not all complex music is good music IMO, sometimes simplicity can say much more. And sometimes that's not the case at all...

How about Captain Beefheart though? He was very much related with Zappa, you ever listen to "Trout Mask Replica"?.
