    I was slim and in great shape until I turned 40 - I played indoor racquetball three times a week, but had to stop after totally wearing out joints in both arms. That with working 60 plus hours a week and going to my two sons activities (boy scouts, sports, etc.) the pounds just started packing on. Then at 47 my thyroid started slowing down - which was undetected for a while.

    No excuses though. Now is the time to "get-er-done."

    I can gain weight pretty easy, but I can take it off pretty quick too. Depends on how physically active I am.

    It`s never just alcohol that gives You diabetes ! Mostly you get it from your parents or old family legacy. You can get it faster when overweight and not taking care of yourself. Mainly it`s hereditary.
