    we took samples of the 800,000 litres of gasoline in the barge. it has 12 compartments, we sounded each compartment to find out how much was in the barge so we can figure out how much will be taken from each one.

    the Captain already calculated which ones we are taking from, we had to calculate and double check his numbers so we agreed how much we are taking. we also did a density test to make sure the gasoline was up to spec.

    tomorrow morning we will take a dip of our shore tank that it's going into, one so we know how much we have on hand before the transfer and will dip it after it's done.

    once the transfer is done we let the tank settle for 12 hours as it swooshes around as it has 80,000 to 90,000 litres into the tank an hour. after that take a dip once it's done to find out how much was transfered then sign off on it.

    yeah the gasoline is going to take 10 to 11 hours to transfer.

    then we have 1.6 million litres of diesel to transfer after that. should take at least 20 hours.
