I wouldn't necessarily hate a few changes; however, the more I listen the alternative could be worse. The dems complain, bitch,, moan, gripe and say all the things that Bush and Congress do wrong, but thats all they do, they haven't given any REAL answers. I heard a Senator on Hannity & Colmes earlier in the week say we need to start pulling out of Iraq NOW, but 2 minutes later said that we obviously don't have ENOUGH soldiers over there to do the job effeciently.......huh?

Another representative said that President Bush and the GOP have ruined the economy.......Ok tis part could be debatable, but what isn't is the Markets are at record or near record levels, Sales of new U.S. homes rose last month as prices posted the biggest drop in nearly 36 years, orders for US made durable goods rose almost 8% just in September alone........hell look across the board.......economy aint bad, except for the possibility of Fuel cost, but thats still lower than most.......except for you guys in California.

It just seems to me that their trying the best they can (the dems) to throw as much against the wall, hoping something will stick and hope that people don't bother to check the facts and to think more with their hearts than with their brains.

Well BR let me start where my complain is at. Maybe i am not seeing things the way you do.

I am a republican, YES. I also believe in the Core republican values, small government and less government interference. But in the past 6 years i see both the things i believe in the most in a political party eroding away.

First off i have a government that spies on me. Also i have a government that has outspend far more than any other government in power with the highest national debt in recorded history. Our economic gains is not a true gain if you look at how much it is costing us. During this administration we incurred the highest national debt in history, where is the republican philosophy in that? Why is our freedoms being taken away? Isn't that what the democrats with their big brother government philosophy was suppose to be about? I would just rather have a split in governmental policy making so that not everything one party wants it gets, to me the less they can agree on and do the better, and i am sure if something important comes up both sides will agree upon and do their legislative duties. That's my way of thinking.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, is the current GOP perfect....hell no. But I sure don't see any REAL solutions coming out of the other camp either other than "lets raise taxes again" or "lets repeal the death tax or corporate income tax". That ALWAYS seems to be their stock answer. But I'm still concerned as well about their stance on Iraq......haven't heard many of them come up a solution themselves..........just alot of complaining about how it's being run.

well hopefully with the other camp involved we won't have bush and his cronies just passing budgets in support of this war to have bush's friends get non-bidding contracts like Haliburton. Second with a different party involved he can't get fucked up laws like increased presidential powers to detain citizens assumed to be terrorist and held them in legal limbo indefinitely. Look at your eroded constitutional rights being taken away. If another party hates bush at least he can't get the laws passes to do whatever he wants.

well....it was HARDLY just Bush and the GOP that pass things like the "Patriot Act":

Originally passed after the September 11, 2001 attacks, the Act (full text) was formed in response to the terrorist attacks against the United States, and dramatically expanded the authority of American law enforcement for the stated purpose of fighting terrorism in the United States and abroad. It has also been used to detect and prosecute other alleged potential crimes, such as providing false information on terrorism. Federal courts declared some sections unconstitutional because they interfere with civil liberties. It was renewed on March 2, 2006 with a vote of 89 to 11 in the Senate and on March 7 280 to 138 in the House. The renewal was signed into law by President Bush on March 9, 2006.

Without alot of Democrats voted FOR this thing it wouldn't have passed.

And detaining prisoners without trial is not a "new" thing. Ask the hundreds of Cubans (especially the Cuban 5) who are STILL in the Atlanta Federal Penitentary (since 1981), and have yet to go to trial.

The patriot act was passed soon after 9-11 in response to the fear we all had, But the democrats have been voicing their dissent to bush's proposals, and in order for a minority group of representatives or senators to block a bill they would need to attempt a filibuster.

True..but it was "Renewed" in March of 2006....we're not talking 2001 now. Those numbers are Recent. 89-11 and 280-138....not 2001 numbers.
