isn´t it a bit ... lame... to say "the guns are there, so what"?
isn´t it better to take care that less weapons are available?

It is easier to think that, but the fact of the reality is there are just way to many criminals here in the first place who have them. We geta huge influx of people from around the world and here is just a statistical data:

illigal immigrants comprise of 3.6% of the US population but comprise of 15% of our prison system. The easy access to illegal firearms from outside the US will always make it easy for criminals to get their hands on, 95% of all deaths by firearms are caused from them illegally obtained. These are not from store bought guns where they have to go through background checks.

dont you think it is crazy to give every untrained person access to deadly weapons?
and if you as anormal citizen have no access to weapons, the"bad guys" will have harder access too!
    the statistic says clearly no!

You know what it requires to buy a firearm here? It is not s easy as you think. Age everification, you have to pass a safety and firearm knowledge test, you have to manually show them you can arm, disarm the gun safely, and you also have to go through an FBI background check and no prior felony convictions. How is that untrained?

untrained is for me to give a person access to firearms without "training" him for a special situation:
    he has to handle stress,hate,fear,etc.

some steps are taken already to help get guns off the street, or at least in the pockets of those that have no business carrying them.

there are gun return programs all over the states, they will get tickets or cash or various other things for people who turn in guns......but that's really like keeping the honest people honest.

The biggest "problem" if you want to see it that way, is that guns are ingrained into the history of our country. Right or wrong, it IS too late to go back to a no weapons type society, the cat is out of the bag as they say.......and not just a little out of the bag. The population is too heavy in many places to even think about trying to just gathering up all the guns and starting over. With a population of over 300 million, just where do you start?

If they (the federal government) where to come to me right now and ask for all my weapons.....I'm not gonna like it at all; however, they can really only ask for weapons that they KNOW that I have. I'm pretty sure azz and DG are in the same boat. I've gathered weapons over the years (mostly purchased "legally") , but some have come from family as a family member passes away, or doesn't use them anymore.........or other ways.

Not to mention, nobody in our government is gonna put their ELECTED neck on the line and say that ALL weapons need to be picked up or destroyed. That's how Senators and Congressmen become "former" Senators and Congressmen.

It's not being "lame" or mean or anything, it's being a realist. Crime in many areas of the country is only as low as it is, because many of the criminals know that homeowners, business owners and such are armed as well or better than they are.

Azz made a good point, but he also left out the question: How hard is it in this country to buy an "illegal" firearm, WITHOUT a permit, or special training?

I guarantee you that I could leave my office right now, and return within a hour "owning" a firearm or some nature without having to have gone through any background checks at all. The illegal fire arms trade is BIG, and that it where all the "Bad" guys buy theirs, not at the local Wall-mart or Sporting goods store..........or at a bank. I'll run down to the corner of Peachtree Street and "any" cross street south of Martin Luther King, and pick up something. Would the feds be able to find THAT weapon when they come to my house?

    You HAVE to be realistic.

sorry, got "some errands" to do.

    well...
    as for the immigrants:
that´s not only an issue in the US. former Warsaw Pact-states are much closer to germany than to the US.
    as for self-protection:
never been in a situation to protect myself, my dependants, friends or belongings. luck? or thanks to the general agreement on our governement here to keep firearms hard to buy?

REAL easy to get firearms here.......especially in Georgia. Our local government has gone as far as giving nice little tax breaks and incentives for companies to relocate or expand their business' here.

    6000 Highlands Parkway
    Smyrna, GA 30082

Just a few minutes drive from where I'm at............and named after a German, and is a German company if I'm correct :?

well.. right now low 50s (9:30pm), alsmost full moon.
in gerneral? lower humidity and temps in summer, higher ones in winter, compared to NJ.

as for weed.... well, no good to be caught with, but... netherlands are close ;)
we do have some kind of "personal use"-storage limit when it comes to lawsuits.
no legalize here, as for now, though.

  17. Try canada bro, shitty weather in winter, but you can just stay in your crib and get blazed as a motha fucka, ain't nothing round here. And to think I just got a half O yesterday ... gonna be a nice week :D

yeah for some reason i'm really starting to dislike cold weather. Canada seemed like THE option for a while, but i'll kill myself if I have to deal with winters actually worse than here.

how's vancouvers weather do you know? cuz i mean... for me... that'd be heaven :)

Of course YOU wouldn't get it smoked. Aint never had a woman tell you that yet. ;-)

    ......on another note.

Don't move to Atlanta.......... law won't even THINK about putting up with weed here. Fuckin' buddy of mine spent 2 YEARS in prison (not jail) PRISON for less than 3 oz.
