    Yeah I'm still dreading the full OS reload portion of things - think I just need to schedule a week off from work to do the reload & file move, which will be so much fun I can't even describe it...

    well if you network your comp together it is super fast to transfer all the data over. I did this many times. :D

    Then the best advice i can give you is when you get a new mb, cpu, ram, and hd. just install the new OS into that system, then use the pin configuration to slave the master hd you have now, and then from there copy everything over to the new hd, reformat the old master drive and use that as a slave drive.

    The only precaution i had is don't do what my friend did, he used his old master drive as a slave drive and stored all his information in it. the old drive was so old that it crashed and he lost everything.

    yeah that's basically what I had planned - still going to take some time, but it will be worth it - hopefully I can get a good 3-5 years out of the upgrade & slowly replace the smaller drives as I do so

    OMFG I DID IT!!!

    I booted up my primary comp with all my hd's intact. And all the files are still working. The only bad part is it takes forever to boot so apparently the stress of turning on all those hd's is still to much a burden for the system to handle. :(

    But at least i now know that reseting the bios will fix the problem. :D:D:D

    I went for 5 months not working with my primary comp because i can't get it to boot with all the drives. What a great relief! :D:D:D
