    Well since it has it's own power supply and start-up function i want to know if it matters if i have it on 24/7, would it harm the drives if i start it up when the comp is already on or would it harm the data is i power it off when the comp is still running. Also i want to know is there any way i can split the output cable to allow two separate comp to share the same data and if it is possible to access the data from more than 1 comp simultaneously.

    hmmmm yeah I can see those issues
    if it assigns a network address to the machine it should then be #1 multi-unit accessible, and #2 power-independent for startups & shutdowns... but if it just reads like an external drive off that USB will be different as you know..

    well the data in those hd's are more valuable to me than the case or the comp it is attached to. That is why i want to be 100% sure the data will be uncorrupted if i power on and off when the comp is on and off as well.
