    The only reason that the stock is empty is because the last batch of beer that I made is still aging in my closet. It's got another week before I can open it. So in the meantime, I have to wait...but I figure I might as well get another batch going!

    Will be making a "clone" brew of my favorite Porter...

    It pours a dark brown, with reddish-brown highlights. Nose is chiefly malty, with a definite hint of resiny hop flowers. In the mouth it is lively - and the resiny notes carry through, combining with a woody malt character that is reminiscent of a varnished teak table... Chocolate and coffee with a dash of cream also spring to mind. There are some dark fruity notes too - plums, maybe, plus some dried fruit. Finish is dry, malty and slightly tart, leading into a lingering malty, resiny aftertaste. A tasty and characterful beer, worth picking up if you see it. "

    always enjoy these "reviews" of beers, wine, malts etc., interesting how these guys try to express what they find while smelling/tasting ;)

    I agree. I enjoy reading those reviews because so many of them are humerous. I think most people think they have some kind of "super" taste-buds...trying to describe the beer.

    When I review them...I keep it short and simple. The beer was excellent, or the beer was not very good. :lol:
