I'm tempted, the night work is so much easier. But it sucks getting home at 6am. I hate working during the day but I like how I'm home by around 9:30.

And bad luck azz, maybe now you can join my site and spam it a bit. :D

Well it's definitely an adjustment - and can cut into your social life. Seeing as I have none, nights works for me.

sorry about your hunting Azz - I'm just hoping weather stays good for my trip.

I don't have a social life outside of work. Only problem with nights for me is that on my day's off I tend to go to sleep a bit earlier then I would had I been working that night and it stuffs up my body clock even more.

Yeah this totally sucks ass cause i don't want to drive 8.5 hours each way to just hunt for 1 day of decent weather. I didn't hand load over 1,000+ rounds of 22-250 and 44mag ammo to have them look nice and neat in a box. :(

I guess i will just work tomorrow. I was planning on a 4 day hunt. This totally sucks ass cause if the grass grows to tall it will cover all the peepers and this season will be gone. :(

Damn that must suck, nothing worse then preparing for something and really looking forward to it and then having it fall through.

well Azz, maybe stuff will clear up and help you out... hope so, know you've been looking forward to this.

and Antheh - yeah, I can relate. I don't stay up quite as late on my days off, but I still stay "mostly" on my nighttime schedule (thus the hours I show up here). That may change more with the next spawn, but we'll see. Not as young as I used to be, and don't live well on only 2 hours of sleep anymore!

I can live on a few hours sleep, but it's better for everyone around me if I get around 8.

rofl - good way to phrase it. I can still get by now & then, but on a consistent basis just can't play like that anymore. The recovery time is longer as it were.

Ant you are like a teddy bear, you need the 8 hours to maintain that teddy bear look. ;)

And DG i have a question for you. I have a friend who cleans his guns out in between shot by running 2 solvent patches, 3 dry patches, 1 oil patch, and 3 dry patches in that sequence and that is how he cleans his gun regardless if there is any fouling left after the second solvent patch. I have always been under the impression you would want to run patches through until you can hardly see any copper(green) residue left on the patches as you run it through before you should stop. Of course doing it my way i on average run through about half a dozen solvent patches before it is even clear on some rifles and on my 22-250 i'd run as many as a dozen solvent patches before it stops having copper residue. What is the proper way? Can i get away with my friend's method shooting on the field and before i put the gun away for the season then do my in-depth cleaning? Or should i just continue what i have been doing. *note - i am not a sharp shooter so absolute perfection isn't my goal*

I was taught to do it this method by an old friend who tells me fouling in a barrel will destroy it quicker. :(

well I run a brush few for a few strokes, then I'll run a solvent patch through to soak. Then clean the rest of the weapon while it does so. After that, another solvent patch & then run a few dry patches - basically alternate dry & solvent patches til they come through clean, then run a light oil patch to leave the barrel with some protection before putting it up. If long term storage then I use a heavier end coat & clean when it comes out before shooting next. You are on the right track in eliminating what fouling you can - once the barrel is broken in & the pores sealed, then you are doing what you can to preserve it & keep the buildup away. Additionally, even if you're not going for match grade, this will still help your accuracy on things.

I know snipers who pretty much clean between every round but that's an extreme situation, your method should work well. The main thing is make sure you clean the residue, and then don't leave solvent behind to eat at the barrel - however you get to the end as long as you meet those goals.

I don't have much experience with guns, shot a couple of shotguns and a .22 rifle but that's about it.

Cool, thats what i have been doing and thats what my old friend told me, just the new guy is doing it his way. I guess i will just stick with my method then. Thanks dg. I figure you of all people should be able to give a straight answer.

It's beautiful weather here which means the grand prix tomorrow will prolly be a rain out. That's Melbourne weather for you. And to understand that you got to have lived in Melbourne.
