I graduated college already, but I don't like the subject anymore. I'm taking business classes so I can open a bowling alley HAHAHA, but that won't happen till I'm about 30.

I wish I could be a camgirl forever, well maybe not. Its boring, lol.

about 1 in 500 people here post, many more are just lurkers.

A bowling alley huh? You have any experience in operating one? And i don't think you need a business degree to own one. ;)

Ah I see. I figured that after I said it, but meh.

I dont have any experience, I'm going into it with someone else that kinda does.

Its so expensive and I think knowing what you are doing is important, lol. That's why I'm taking the business classes.

I have a degree in business administration accounting and finance and i will guarantee you knowing both will not help you in running a successful business. Bill gates is a very good example of a guy who dropped out of college and did well. Your drive to run a business and any personal inspiration you bring to it will be the determining factor to it's success. Ask yourself what will make your bowling alley different that will make people want to come there over your competitors. Is there a demand for one in your area, if you are buying one used find out why it is being sold. Those are just basic common sense questions anybody should be asking themselves when going into business.

I do wish you luck though. ;)

Yea, I've learned all that through my class already. There isn't a bowling alley in my town. You have to go an hour out to find one. We have one movie theater here and thats it, there is for sure a huge demand for one, people need something to do here. And our town is growing pretty quick now, I think it's the best time to open one.

You found out what the initial costs to set one up would cost?

Well I can't really find crap about opening up a bowling alley. Like where to get my equipment and stuff like that. I talked with the people that own Brunswick and asked if I'd be able to use their products, but I think I'd have to open up one of their places here...I don't completely understand it, haha.

But they have this deal where they build the whole place for us, we don't do a thing, it's called Build-To-Bowl or something like that, and the price was from 125,000 to 700,000, depending on how many lanes and what type of stuff we want in our bowling alley.

that is a huge initial investment. My best suggestion is if you aren't ready to open one immediately apply part time at a local bowling alley and know the procedures on how to operate one. By immersing yourself in it you can pick up how it operates.

As far as getting one set up what you can also do besides calling Brunswick is to call other bowling alleys outside your area and ask them how they did it. You might get one or two owners who will share with you the setup process.

Yea, I know. I need to have money to open it anyway, and it'll take a long time for me to get it.

I'm going to talk to other bowling alleys around here, some people had a bowling alley here about 5 years ago, but someone kept setting it on fire, so they closed it and turned the place into a furniture store. o_O

I'm going to talk to them about everything and also see if they think opening one up now is a good idea or not.

Particularly small business loans and for female owned businesses - so you get a leg up as it were there ;)

Glad you like the sig Eve, long story behind it but always enjoy making folks smile! Yarrr!

and Azz, you've been around longer than any of us, so you don't get the same welcome - unless you want us to start yelling "Azzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'' (instead of "Norm") everytime you "walk" into general chat???

btw Eve - what area of Arizona you in? We're discussing moving back out there, actually was just in Phoenix last week visiting family.
