    no it has been cool all summer long, so i doubt the birds would stay this long, chances are good they could have migrated already. But i will know in a few days when i call up my friend who owns the ranch and ask him how was the doves on opening day and then shoot myself in the foot for not planning on going this year. :(

    I also bought 5 cases of dove loads from last year, was hoping to use them all up. :(

    well there was a reason why i bought so many cases, one is i can expell as many as 800 shells in a day if they out in force. I did so one year and ran out in the first day. :lol:

    But that was one in 6 years i have been doing this, most years i hit my 2 day limit and stop. But last year i was in Oregon and they sell shells for so much cheaper, no 15% ammunition tax and 8.25% sales tax, so at $35 per case i couldn't go wrong. Here i pay $44 per case and add in sales tax. :(

    I figure if anything i can always shoot trap with them.

    8shot, 3dram charge, 1 1/8th ounce of shot, it is a good all purpose load. :D

    yea, i use 7 shot for dove but i'm not scared to use it for trap either, man, speaking of that i need to get out and shoot trap again, haven't been out to do that for a while

    wtf? you make soup outta the thing. I have a pointer which gets me up close to the animal. 7.5's first shot and if i miss 6's for my second shot. That is all i had ever use, taken down probably close to 100 pheasants in my time hunting them. Never had to resort to using anything bigger than 4's even for ducks.
