That brings up an interesting (I hope) question.......

Does DirecTV offer satellite television for you guys over there, or do you have your own providers?

Never heard of DirecTV. We've got a bunch of sat providers these days, but Sky, of the Rupert Murdoch empire (that's right, Mr FOX), are still the largest, and they get most of the live sport because their pockets are deeper than everyone elses. Bastards.

Oh, no; we have cooked dinners like that.

    Just with gravy.

    Fucking savages.

DirecTV is the oldest, and largest Sat provider over here. I don't know if Murdoch has his hands in that pie as well, or not, but it wouldn't surprise me. They have all of the large, lucrative sports contracts here.

Just as an example of the money grubbing "deep pockets" you mentioned, I've been a customer of theirs for 12, or 13 years now. I used to subscribe to the "NFL Sunday Ticket" which gave you every game, every week. Very tasty if you're into it. It was $89 dollars when I began my subscription to it, and now, it's well over $200! I told them where they could put the "ticket" about 3 years ago. ;)

Sorry for the holdup bro. Had to take the dog out for a piss. :(

I can't bring myself to do it any longer either. Back when I was a bit more of a yoot it was cool. Used to have a house full of drunken heathens over every Sunday to watch the games, and swill so that made it worthwhile. Sadly, those days seem to be gone for good. :(

It's more fun going to a random pub in town anyway. You sort of `get` with a bunch of like-minded fans and have a great couple of hours. Not unlike going to the ground to watch the game. :D

    Appeals to me travellers soul.

Yup.....I miss that shit. My soul did plenty of traveling back in the day. There was one place in particular that was like my "Cheers". Knew everyone that walked through the door, and people knew to call me there instead of the house if it was after "quitting time". :p

The benefits of living within a tightly packed old city.

'Course, there is that big fucking hill to contend with......

Fine at the beginning of the night, daunting come the wee small hours of the morning. But that's why God invented taxi-cabs.
