right now, I have 2 hopes:

1. My pay is the lowest on the team for a full time employee, so if they are going to keep somebody, it should be me. I do the same work for less money.

2. I have an application in at a place that wants somebody to train their sales force in dental. I trained dental for 6 years. If I get that, then I would actually end up with a pay raise for this whole ordeal.

I can only imagine the amount of stress that is lying in your shoulders.

They also gave me two projects to complete by 12/31 knowing that I have a kid due in December, so I will be out for two weeks. The projects they gave me are normally something that would take 2 people 3-4 months to complete. So I get 2, to complete in 1.5 months. If I do, maybe I get to keep my job, maybe not. If I don't, well it reduces my chances of keeping my job. Would like to stay just because I have been here for 12 years and have built up quite the vacation bank, can take sick time when I want (not that I ever take it), and get quite a few other little perks.

 

holy shit. you will be working a lot of overtime.

 

What do your colleages say, I bet everybody is afraid and pissed off atm.

 

yes, everybody is pissed/scared.

I will admit, our company was very top heavy. And they started by saying they wanted to streamline the business to make decisions faster and more effective.

In the past 2 weeks my area alone:
Announced removal
3 VPs (1 mine)
1 Associate VP
3 Directors
1 Supervisor

Overall:
5 Entire departments eliminated
1. Customer Service Experience Managament (Quality Department)
2. Business Solutions Planning (IT department)
3. Enterprise Learning Solutions (Learning and Development my department)
4. Product Coordinators (Project Managers)
5. Resource Department (If the frontline CSCs couldn't handle the call, this is where it went.)

They are also going ahead and using this time to remove the poor performers, instead of waiting until the next performance review period.

I my office alone, we are losing 200 people of the 500 employees we have in the building.

They have brought in "Mental Health Professionals" to help people make the transition to the new model.
