It's not really so much about age with me as it is about maturity. I have nothing against 15 year olds being posted, or the comments they generate from the degenerates among our members. Hell, I found some of Traci Lords porn vids the other day and downloaded them as fast as I could. Been looking for them for quite some time... But I digress. I just think when you're talking about women that they should be fully mature, no matter whether they're 19 or 49 (Traci Lords was very mature for her age. ). I still see too many girlish qualities in Miley that instantly make me think of her as a 'teenager' instead of a woman.

 

Al went to bed. But it's a good debate, though not a winnable one by either side. Personally, I think Miley is slightly more mature for her age, I think she's OK looking but not super, and I want to see where she'll be in 3 years. She has some basic talent. I'd like to see where that's going to take her.

Basic talent can take her a long way as long as Disney can keep fooling people into thinking she's special. Media companies that back popstars spend obscene amounts of money promoting them to keep them visible and viable. When the public gets tired of her they'll move on, but I won't lose any sleep over it. She's already banked enough money to live very comfortably for the rest of her life without ever having to lift a microphone or pick up a script ever again.

 

It wasn't the sex that made her look mature, it was those well defined curves. Lordy!

 

Took the words out of my mouth. Except I think her dad will try to get her away from Disney and get her out there on her own in a couple years. Just a guess.

 

I image her contract sunsets when she's 18, with options to reup. Disney is no longer in the habit of binding themselves to anyone for unforeseeable periods of time like they did in the old days with Annette Funicello. They have to be able to cut and run at their pleasure if one of their 'talents' suddenly begins to tank, or does something stupid like get pregnant at 16. Disney has a wholesome reputation/facade to maintain afterall.

 

I think she wants to be a little more "wild" on-stage. That's why I'm not sure she'll be with Disney after 18.

 

I know what you meant. Disney has many brands, I'm sure they can accomodate her. For films they have their G, PG/PG-13 and R rated studios, like Touchstone and Miramax. I'm not sure what record labels they own.

 

What's left to count in the Awards? Who's waiting for whom?
