    Don't mix wine, with 2 exceptions:

    1. Crappy sweet wines can be mixed with soda water to make them palatable
    2. Champagne and other sparkling wines can be made into a handful of not very good mixed drinks.

    Actually, 2 more:

    3. Chicks will sometimes insist on sangria or some other hideous alcoholic frankenstein
    4. If you're stuck with Boone's or some other jug wine and no other alcohol in site, wait 3 weeks to see if help arrives and then throw whatever you need in to make it palatable.

    Fortified wines (including cognac, port, brandy, armangac, etc) follow a different set of rules.
