The few days of vacation I took off during the holidays is all i'll get for a while, probably till spring vacation. We've got a lot of shit coming down the road in the next 2 - 3 months.

That shit happens from time to time. It pisses me the hell off when it does but I get over it.

I hear ya man......I've been at my job long enough now where when the phone rings on the weekend, I'm of the "theory" that one of the "underlings" can handle it, but alas.....it never seems to pan out that way.

Those damn things are worthless, far too expensive, and less than a (Salty) shot.

Lately, now that I'm a little older(?).........I don't know if it's due to the fact that I was twisted up the night before, or not, but drinking on an airplane fucks with me innards. I tend to turn into the super hero "GAS MAN" when I imbibe whilst airborne.

 

No doubt. I've been on call since Friday - hasn't been to awful bad, only had to come up here 3 times. 2 of them were easy, 1 took me about 2 hours on Friday night - just before the Bama game. I didn't think I was going to make it out in time. Afterthoughts of seeing the game I kinda wish I hadn't.

 

LOL - not me. I usually have several before hand and the max allowed while i'm on one.

 

...still a better super power than Meg's ability to grow her fingernails long.

 

Sorry to hear about the tide dude, but as I mentioned to ya, they're going to be a force to be reckoned with next season IMHO.

No one works the weekends. We all take turns being on call 24/7 for a week at a time every 6 weeks. We also all have our own specialties so if a problem comes up that someone else doesn't know how to resolve (like last weekend) they call that particular person in. Unforetuneately since there is waaay more windows servers here than any other brand I get called a good bit.

 

It could be due to the fact that on flights that come this far north, you're lucky to get a warm Beck's ffs! (which I'll gladly swill ) The "swill till" is usually bare bones by the time we board it seems.

We got blessed a few years back, and were bumped up to first class on our way to Florida. Whadda fucking charge of (flight) culture shock! Free beers (cold as hell too), a seat the size of my recliner, and a fresh Turkey "kwa-sont'! (croissant)!

Mmmmmm...that has a lovely ring to it. No one NEEDS to work weekends at my operation either. It's the end result of the suck pump (Heir) Director licking the sack of City Hall. The place could very easily/economically be put on a SCADA system, with myself, or one of the others on call.
