    Most dissapointing actor in recent memory, though. After Strange Days and English Patient he looked to be a top-tier really awesome up and comer, and then he picked a ton of okay but not great pics to waste his time in.

    Yeah, he's always good. The dissapointing thing is that he looked like he was up there with, say, Ed Norton, Christian Bale, Daniel Day Lewis, etc in the top-tier of new actors and then he picked a bunch of really weak films.

    Oscar and Lucia, Constant Gardener, Maid in Manhatten, End of the Affair, the Avengers.

    I still like him so I hope he picks some good films to show his talent soon!

    His earlier stuff had some great moments outside of just the ones I named (Strange Days/English Patient). His turn in Schindler's List was phenomenal, and Quiz Show was a fine acting turn. In Bruges was great recently, and he did a fun vocal job in Wallace and Grommit Curse of the Were-Rabbit, too.

    It's not that he sucked recently, more that he looked to be one of the top few actors of his generation and the films he's picked since the early days just haven't lived up to that (admittedly very high) standard.
